POW PROMPT 8

Written for and posted to POW!
Here's this weeks prompt.

Here's mine: Playlist - Vivaldi four seasons (summer).

TWILIGHT IN SUMMER

When the day is done and the sun is over

And the summer heat won’t let you settle down

When sleep is as rare as a four leafed clover

And the twilight noise echoes all over town

You drink another drink to the god of night

And then thank your lucky stars when you don’t drown

You can’t always be wrong, some things must be right

They say that yesterday was the longest day

You can bet that the kids will sleep ‘til twilight

They told me all about taking the subway

Don’t do it after dark, man! the first kid said.

They showed me how to get back after the play

Don’t walk in the twilight zone or you’ll be dead!

Don’t let twilight in summer go to your head.

POW PROMPT 5

Written for and posted to POW!
Here's this weeks prompt.

PUSHING DAISY
Drive all night, the things you do
Try to make your dreams come true
Up and down the frog and toad
Load on load, load up, unload.

Then one day out of the blue
Some rich aunt you barely knew
Throws a spanner up and croaks
So now you’re no longer broke.

Your heart beats a zillion times
Slow it down, the hall clock chimes
Tick tock, tick tock, tic tac toe,
Tick tock, tick tock, tic tac toe.

This life’s cruel, but it’s no joke
They think you’re a proper bloke
From a self-made millionaire
To someone who really cares.

Yeah yeah, big bird, she loves you
Bet she loves your money too
Easy come and easy go
She’s expensive, don’t you know?

Auntie Maisie pushing daisy
Why would she really bother
If she thought that you were lazy
She could give it to another.

To your sister, to your brother
To your friend, or to your lover
Pull your finger out go crazy
Flip-flop, flip-flop, hand-stand, daze me!

Auntie rich bitch Maisie maybe
Shirley, twirly wirly, Sadie
Ride up and down the bed post cold
Till every single thing is sold

All the antiques and the new stuff
Sent to the auction off the cuff
And all the staff were told to leave
If only you could start to grieve.

Drive all night, the things you do
Try to make your dreams come true
Up and down the frog and toad
Load on load, load up, unload.
